A writer who understands your work — and your clients.

I have an unflagging enthusiasm for the science and art of the therapeutic relationship as a path to radical transformation, after years of my own clinical experience as a counselor.

But most people encounter many obstacles in the process of locating and contacting the right therapist. As a freelance copywriter for therapists, my mission is to make it easier for clients to find the help they need.

Hi, I’m Tracy.

If you’re looking for a writer who:

  • celebrates neurodivergence,

  • is LGBTQ-affirming, and

  • believes that “maladaptive coping” is a pretty weird way to talk about surviving oppressive systems,

… then we’ll get along fabulously.

For more than 10 years, I’ve provided writing and editing services to small business owners, including therapists in private practice.

My relational perspective on copywriting is influenced by my graduate training in psychology with a mindfulness framework, followed by a decade of real-world experience in clinical counseling. I also have an undergraduate degree in professional writing.

I especially enjoy providing web content for therapists whose clinical interests overlap my own:  bereavement/grief and loss, expressive arts therapy, incorporating nervous system regulation into play therapy, working with teens or emerging adults, and affirming approaches to support for neurodivergent clients of all ages. I embrace the neurodiversity paradigm, as defined at Neuroqueer.

A few personal details…

⪢  I’m old enough to have had a childhood with no Internet, and to have met my wife online in an era when this was still uncommon… but young enough to have grown up with Sesame Street in its early years.

⪢  I support FaithAction International House, which serves and advocates for new immigrants and refugees in my area; El Refugio, a hospitality house for the families of undocumented people who are held without due process at Stewart Detention Center; and the Movement for Black Lives and Southerners on New Ground, two queer- and trans-affirming collectives working toward racial justice and liberation for all people.

Therapy can be world-changing.

Let’s work together to create the space where clients are eager to connect with you.

I view our collaboration as a mutual investment. You invest financially and energetically in a clearly defined project, and I invest my time and skills in making your professional services vibrant and visible so your ideal clients can find you.

Every sentence of your therapy website text will be crafted with care by me personally. I don’t delegate work to other freelancers.

My intentions:

  • To communicate clearly about job scope and the parameters of our work agreement.

  • To care about your website copy as much you do and remain true to your vision of the finished product.

  • To be responsive to your feedback throughout our collaborative process.

  • To safeguard your privacy during and after our work together. I never disclose who has hired me or share previous work samples, and every quote on my testimonials page appears there by explicit written permission.

No-frills writing services for therapists

I offer a straightforward writing process that is highly personalized to your needs. The text I craft for you will be based on information gathered at the outset, and I’ll do most of the heavy lifting in this collaborative effort. A round of revisions is included in the fee, so that you can feel confident that your website sounds like you and accurately represents your practice.
